Inspiring Moment Photo Collection Campaign

Organiser: CUHK Medical Centre Limited (“Organiser”)
Audience: Open to all Hong Kong residents
Theme of photos: The submitted photos should be able to showcase the beauty and passion in life. 
Enrolment & Submission Period: 6 January – 6 February 2022
Entry Format-Technical Image Requirements:
  • Each participant can only submit 1 entry and a maximum of 5 photos
  • Each photo must be in JPEG format (RAW file is not needed at this stage)
  • File size: must be within 5-10 MB
  • Resolution: at least 200dpi
  • Pixel: at least 5000px X 3500px

Selection Criteria

  • The aesthetics and message delivered by the photo
  • Content of the photo(s) must match with the theme of the Campaign

 


Result Announcement

Selected participants will be notified of the results via email in the end of February 2022 and will receive a gift as a token of appreciation for their participation.

 

Public Exhibition

A maximum of 100 photos will be selected for public display. Selected photos will be exhibited by batch starting from March 2022 at a specific area within CUHK Medical Centre; while the respective batch of photos will be simultaneously published on the website and social media platforms of CUHK Medical Centre. 

 

Terms and Conditions

  1. All Hong Kong residents are eligible to enrol. 
  2. Theme of submission(s): The submitted photos should be able to showcase the beauty and passion in life.
  3. The Photo Collection Campaign (“The Campaign”) will end at 11:00pm (Hong Kong Time) on Sunday, 6 February 2022. Late entries will not be accepted. Submission time of all entries will be registered in accordance with the time recorded by the computer system of CUHK Medical Centre.
  4. The Organiser is not the supplier of the gift and shall not be liable for any responsibilities in relation to the use or enjoyment of the gift. Use of the gift may be subject to additional terms and conditions as stipulated by the supplier.
  5. Each participant can only submit 1 entry and a maximum of 5 photos. 
  6. Participants shall submit photos to the online platform as specified by the Organiser. Each photo must be in JPEG format (RAW file is not needed at this stage) of 5-10MB.
  7. Photos that have been digitally created or altered beyond standard optimization (including cropping as well as reasonable adjustments to exposure, color and contrast, etc.) will not be accepted. 
  8. Photos must not contain any inappropriate elements, including but not limited to obscene, violent, pornographic, defamatory, indecent, disparaging and controversial contents and elements. 
  9. The Organiser has the right to disqualify any participant from this Campaign without giving notice or reason if:  (a)  his photo contain inappropriate elements; (b) his photos are in any incorrect file format; (c) the participant commits a breach of these Terms and Conditions; (d) the participant provides untrue or incomplete personal information; or (e) there are other reasonable circumstances that the Organiser deems appropriate.  All entries should not include any direct and/or indirect commercial elements. 
  10. Once submitted, all photos shall not be further modified and replaced, and would not be returned. 
  11. Each participant represents and warrants that all photos submitted or created by him/her are his/her original work and do not infringe the rights of any party, including but not limited to any intellectual property rights (copyrights, trademark) or brand name registered or enforceable anywhere in the world. Each participant further warrants that he/she is the sole owner of the copyrights of all photos submitted, and that in exercising his/her copyrights in the photos submitted, no consent from any third party is required, and no third party claim on copyrights and/or other intellectual property rights has arisen and/or shall arise therefrom. The Organiser assumes no responsibility whatsoever for the photos submitted by the participants or any liabilities arising therefrom.  Participants agree and promise to accept and bear all legal responsibilities arising from the photo(s) submitted. If a claim is made against the Organiser in relation to the photo(s) submitted by a participant (“Claim”), the participant undertakes that he/she shall give the Organiser all necessary assistance as may be required by the Organiser in connection with such Claim. The participant agrees to indemnify the Organiser against all actions, costs, claims, demands, damage, expenses, and any awards and costs which may be agreed to be paid in settlement of any proceedings, suffered or incurred by the Organiser arising from or in connection with such Claim. This indemnity shall survive expiry or termination of the Campaign and shall continue in full force and effect notwithstanding such expiry or termination. 
  12. Each participant has to bear all legal responsibilities in the event that his/her submission(s) has/have infringed any laws. The Organiser will not be held liable for any loss or damage arising from the photo submission by any participants in any case. 
  13. Each participant represents and warrants that the submitted photo(s) has/have never been involved in any other commercial uses or arrangements which may inhibit or restrict the exercise by the Organiser of the rights granted under these Terms and Conditions. 
  14. Participants should ensure the submitted photo(s) and file(s) are free from any security and virus issues. If virus is found in the file, participant will be disqualified. The Organiser shall also have the right to claim for compensation from the concerned participant for any loss arising from such submission. The participant shall indemnify the Organiser from any claims, losses, damages, costs or expenses incurred in connection therewith. This indemnity shall survive expiry or termination of the Campaign and shall continue in full force and effect notwithstanding such expiry or termination.
  15. The Organiser respects the participant’s rights and does not claim copyright over photos submitted to this Campaign. By submitting photos to this Campaign, the participant has agreed to grant an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty free and non-exclusive license to the Organiser to use, edit, modify or copy the submitted photos, description of the photos and the name of the participant for any purposes, including but not limited to publish, print, exhibit, display, promote, issue, in public and/or on various channels, including but not limited to the website(s) and social media platform(s) of the Organiser or its affiliate(s), without prior notice to or consent from the participant.
  16. The Organiser is not liable for any loss or damage caused by any problems or technical malfunctioning of the computer network systems, servers, computer equipment and software; and is not held accountable for any delay in email transmissions caused by the network failure/ network problems/ connection issues, or human errors of any kind, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant, and/or to his/her computer equipment resulting from the participation in the Campaign.
  17. The Organiser shall not be liable to the participants for any loss, damage, cost and expense directly or indirectly suffered by him/her (including but not limited to, loss of profit, loss of saving, loss of goodwill, loss of revenue or loss of contract incurred by such participants, whether anticipated or actual, or any special indirect or consequential damages of any nature whatsoever) or any action, claim and proceeding taken against the participants by any third party or parties in connection with, incidental to and consequential upon the performance of the Organiser or its employees or independent contractors in relation to this Campaign.
  18. Each participant acknowledges that the Campaign is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Facebook or Instagram. All information and photos provided is solely provided to the Organiser and not to Facebook or Instagram.  Facebook and/or Instagram shall not bear any responsibility arising from or in connection with this Campaign.
  19. In case of disputes, the Organiser reserves the right of final decision. The Organiser also retains the right to amend, supplement and interpret these Terms and Conditions and any other arrangement of the Campaign at its sole and absolute discretion from time to time without prior notice. 
  20. Upon submission of photo(s), participant has agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions of the Campaign. The Campaign has no appeal mechanism.
  21. If there is any inconsistency or ambiguity between the English version and the Chinese version, the English version shall prevail.
  22. Terms and Conditions of this Campaign shall be construed, governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong. Any dispute arising out of this Campaign shall be mutually resolved in negotiation, failing which, will be referred to mediation.
