Special Announcement

Holistic Medical Care for Menopause (Integrative Medicine)

This programme is jointly designed by the medical teams of the School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), the Hong Kong Institute of Integrative Medicine of CUHK (IIM) and CUHK Medical Centre (CUHKMC).

Introduction

Menopause is a natural phase for every woman. As oestrogen level gradually declines beginning at around the age of 45, it brings upon conditions of insomnia, irritability, hot flashes, and fatigue - commonly known as menopausal symptoms. Since the average age of menopause is around 51 and the onset of symptoms typically start around the age of 45,  they can last for several years. However, many choose to, despite its effect on their daily routines and quality of life, endure in silence the discomfort due to difficulties in discussing them openly or simply busy schedules.
Taking care of yourself during menopause begins properly addressing it. Our medical teams bring together the best of both Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine to address your menopause situation. Our family physicians and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners will team up to tailor a care plan that fits your need and nurture both your physical and mental well-being, making menopause a change that is for the better.

The programme includes blood tests, along with diagnosis and analysis by both Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, as well as specific consultation on menopause-related conditions, such as prevention of cardiovascular diseases, check for breast cancer, cervical screening test, genitourinary system issues, and osteoporosis.
