The Community Vaccination Centre at  CUHK Medical Centre (CUHKMC) and CUHK Medical Clinic started to provide COVID-19 vaccination service for the public

CUHKMC took up the operation of the Children Community Vaccination Centre (CCVC) at Yuen Chau Kok Sports Centre to provide BioNTech vaccination service to children aged 5 to 11

CUHKMC and ADORE joined hands with other parties to launch the health truck “VaxMobile”, transformed from locally-invented electric minibuses, to provide vaccination service to the community. The initial phase of operation focuses on offering outreach COVID-19 vaccination service to primary and secondary schools, kindergartens and care homes for elderly. The first destination was Tai Yuen Estate, Tai Po, where more than 380 residents received the inoculation of BioNTech vaccines on the day

  • A generous donation of HK$10 million was made by the Li Ka Shing Foundation (LKSF) for assisting CUHKMC to receive non-COVID-19 patients referred by public hospitals, currently covering cardiology and cancer treatment services
  • Performed Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) surgery for the first 2 patients referred by public hospitals

 

 

7 Mar 2022

CUHKMC obtained Department of Health’s approval to launch a designated isolation ward (step-down ward) to admit COVID-19 patients referred from public hospitals. Currently, the step-down ward provides 24 beds for recovering COVID-19 patients, so as to alleviate the pressure of the public healthcare system, allowing public hospitals to focus on critically ill patients

CUHKMC reserved 24 beds for receiving non-COVID-19 patients referred through PPP and donation schemes (including Li Ka Shing Foundation's donation scheme)

The “VaxMobile” offered vaccination service for more than 100 students and teachers of S.K.H. St. James' Primary School, the first school participating in the outreach vaccination scheme. The “VaxMobile” also took to the Sheng Kung Hui Kindergarten Hong Kong, HKSKH St. James’ Church and St. James' Settlement to offer outreach vaccination

CUHKMC reserved 12 beds for receiving non-COVID-19 patients referred by public hospitals

 

 

29 Aug 2022

CUHKMC added 6 more beds for receiving non-COVID-19 patients referred by public hospitals. The total number of beds reserved increased to 18 beds

 

 

13 Sep 2022

CUHKMC added 8 more beds in the designated isolation ward (step-down ward) for admitting COVID-19 patients referred from public hospitals. The total number of beds reserved increased to 32 beds

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

16 Jan 2023

In accordance with the recommendation on infection control measures for COVID-19 issued by the Centre for Health Protection, CUHKMC converted the designated isolation ward to a general ward. After the conversion, the ward will continue to admit COVID-19 patients referred from public hospitals or on self-financed basis. The ward will also admit orthopaedic and medical patients referred from public hospitals in segregated designated areas. CUHKMC closed the COVID Medical Station and will continue to provide telemedicine service to the COVID-19 patients in need
