How is my sleep health?

Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) is commonly underrated and left undetected by the public due to lack of awareness on sleep health. It affects 4% of middle-aged males and 2% of middle-aged females among the working-class population in Hong Kong.

If you are experiencing any of the above or have trouble feeling energized throughout the day, it may suggest you are experiencing signs and symptoms of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA). OSA is commonly associated with Obesity, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and more. Epidemiological studies show that sleep deprivation or sleep of suboptimal quality are associated with certain health risks, such as obesity1, endocrine disorders2, Type II diabetes3, cardiovascular diseases4-6, certain cancers7-10, and mood disorders11.

Risk Factors of OSA Include:

-    Family History of OSA
-    Snoring
-    Gender; OSA is more prevalent in Males
-    Age; middle-aged
-    Obesity
-    Smoking/Alcohol
-    Craniofacial abnormalities
