Statement: Professionalism of Ultrasound and MRI services of CUHKMC's Imaging & Interventional Radiology Centre

Recently, there have been media reports regarding the qualifications of personnel performing ultrasound examinations and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) at an individual medical institution, as well as the accuracy of their reports. Following these reports, CUHK Medical Centre (CUHKMC) received public enquiries on the matter. In response to these concerns, CUHKMC hereby clarifies that all ultrasound and MRI scans at our Imaging & Interventional Radiology Centre are conducted by either specialists in radiology or radiographers registered in Hong Kong. For cases handled by registered radiographers, the images and reports will always be reviewed and verified by a specialist in radiology to ensure both the quality of the examination and the accuracy of the report.
